You can make requests regarding the gender of the person providing you intimate care. The healthcare environment must do its best to meet your demand.

 

 

In the event of an emergency or depending on the availability of professionals, your request may be impossible to carry out.

Several examples of situations

You have the right to request a person of the gender of your choice for interventions such as :

  • a vaginal examination.
  • a transvaginal ultrasound.
  • an abortion.
  • breastfeeding support.
  • perineal rehabilitation.
