Dignity is the respect owed to each person. You must be treated humanely at all times. You and your baby should receive care with respect and compassion.

The healthcare team and the establishment’s staff must protect your physical and psychological integrity.

Several examples of situations

  • No one is allowed to humiliate you.
  • No one is allowed to yell at you.
  • No one is allowed to touch you in a degrading manner.
  • Examinations must be gentle.
  • You must give your informed and free consent before receiving any treatment.
