Having the right information is necessary to make the right decisions. You have the right to be informed about the reasons, the detailed procedure, and the effects of any treatment offered to you. If there are different options, they must also be presented to you, along with their advantages and disadvantages.

 

 

You have the right to ask any questions you want and get clear, non-judgmental answers.

Several examples of situations

You have the right to be properly informed about:

  • Differences between abortion methods.
  • Places where you can give birth to your child.
  • The progress and state of your pregnancy, delivery, and breastfeeding.
  • Suggested interventions and medications for you or your baby such as
    • ultrasound, and blood tests,
    • labour induction using medication, examination of the cervix, and fetal heart monitoring,
    • pain relief methods during labour or abortion,
    • vaginal birth after Caesarean (VBAC),
    • vitamin K injection to the newborn.
