Leave for pregnancy loss and grief

the right
In the event of an abortion or miscarriage, salaried employees are entitled to leave based on the number of weeks of pregnancy completed.
Some employers may offer different and more advantageous conditions.
People who are self-employed and meet certain Quebec Parental Insurance Plan (QPIP) criteria are also eligible.
Several examples of situations
BEFORE THE 20th WEEK:
- An employee who was pregnant is entitled to a maximum of 3 weeks of leave, without pay. It is possible to extend the leave if a doctor deems it necessary.
- The pregnant person’s partner is not entitled to leave.
FROM THE 20th WEEK:
- An employee who was pregnant is entitled to receive benefits from the Quebec QPIP.
- The salaried father or partner is entitled to 5 days of bereavement leave.
