The healthcare facility must ensure your safety as part of providing care. If you are experiencing violence, do not hesitate to express your fears to the healthcare team.
Even if you do not file a police report, the establishment can protect your identity during hospitalization. It can also hide your presence in the hospital from relatives who are looking for you.
The law provides specific protections in the case of a birth resulting from sexual assault. Get information if necessary.
Several examples of situations
- Ban the person who is violent towards you.
- Get the help you get the help you want.
- Opt not to declare your partner’s paternity or parenthood in a situation of domestic violence.
